pg_dd_deal

Pre-order the 2LP vinyl edition of Duran Duran‘s new album Paper Gods at a fantastic price!

At the time of writing (8.15 3/7/15) this double vinyl set is just £12.99 on Amazon UK. For some reason Amazon list this as a single LP but Duran Duran have confirmed that it’s a double.

Having a packshot of the beautiful Rio cover in the buying recommendations on that page doesn’t help that Paper Gods artwork any.

  2. At July 3, 2015 13:00 the price at Amazon is 24.99 GBP!!!

So the deal is over. Everyone who ordered has saved themselves £12.

Oh dear lord, stop complaining. You act as if this Duran Duran record is not going to pick up US distributors, or Japen or Australia distributors. I’m quite certain that as soon as the band’s U.S. distribution falls in line… this double vinyl 180 gram (guessing) with gatefold vinyl sleeve will run about $21 – $24 dollars to buy it ther. Be patient, folks. Patient.

Wow those were some really bad grammatical and spelling issues! Given I’m the author of two other bands biographies… you’d think I should just keep my mouth snapped shut over the most obvious thing… and that is, as soon as the management team behind Duran Duran chooses a Hollywood route to roll out an album. It will be on retail shelves for no more than $24.98, and Amazon knows that, so digitally, the record will go on sale within 36 hours in the U.S. Unless, of course, our celebrity circus posing as musicians doesn’t turn away from Duran Duran being released worldwide. Several bands are getting more specific about the demographics of where they sell records. The day will come very soon where vinyl is going to return us to a non-digital sound. The more bands do that, they faster it all becomes automatic… where vinyl, cassette, disc or download will happen momentarily.

I so hate the £20 limit. I couldn’t find anything else to order that I was prepared to wait until September to receive, to get the free postage :(

Oh dear why oh why are they going with this awful album cover, was it done by some infants at a play school ? Though to be honest not many of the bands album covers have been that good really, let’s just hope the album tracks sound better than the dreadful first single.

Although still undecided whether to get the album (I have all their others so I guess I will) and what format to opt for (waiting to see what deluxe editions get announced) I decided to snag this on the basis I can always cancel it later.

Many thanks for the heads up Paul. I think this is actually the first time I have acted on one of your deal alerts as I usually have the item already (purchased at full price as I have no patience).

It’s not about being tight – If I ordered more from Amazon than I do – then it would be worth it – I only order 3 or 4 times a year so not with the subscription fee

whatrecords.co.uk are selling it for £18.99, as well as RIO for £9.99.
    Shipping is £4.90
