No Brainer – 27.71 Euros or $31 shipped to the US of A

Saw Parker down Callahans, a small music bar in Michigan. He hung out after the show and was way cool. He was nice enough to sign one of my albums “The place is buzzin, please don’t let the fuzz in”

Glad he is enjoying success with the Rumour – Great shout Paul

  2. Bob O says:

You’re absolutely right; grab this now. JPC had a similar discount price yesterday which I promptly jumped on, only to get an e-mail today saying that they were cancelling the order due to an “error”. This offer from Amazon Germany may also be an “error” but, hopefully, they’ll honor the price for those of us who snag this now. Great site Paul; you’re my “go to” guy!!

    • Paul Sinclair says:

I knew JPC wouldn’t honour that price, which is why I didn’t highlight it. To be honest it could be 50-50 with Amazon on this one, but fingers crossed…

  3. ADRIAN BARRETT says:

    Done.Cheers!!!!

  4. STEERY says:

Thanks Paul a bargain not to be missed £27 with postage & packing half price saving compared to Amazon UK, dealt with Amazon de previously no problems. I’ve collected GP recordings from 1976 onwards and seen him in concert many times the ‘Squeezing Out Sparks’ tour 1979 being a highlight at Leicester De Montfort Hall. The box set covers all the basses at this price an absolute steal.

  5. Hugh says:

In for 1 with no hesitation, like Adlai Stevenson, don’t wait for the translation.

    Thanks again, Paul.

  6. Bruce Hoffman says:

    What a great deal, thanks!

  7. Francesco Cavaliere says:

In like Flynn! Ordered, let’s hope (as someone above said) that they honour these pre-orders.

  8. Jim Rochford says:

Thanks. Just grabbed the deal. Will play this version and display the autographed copy I ordered from Graham Parker’s website.

    • RJSWinchester says:

“Will play this version and display the autographed copy”

Do you have a display cabinet or something?

  9. Simon Taylor says:

Thanks for this, why dont i get the email alerts anymore, do i need to sign up again? I have a new phone but still shouldnt affect the email alerts and not receiving.

I went for this, looks a great set plus, like with the Zeppelin BBC set there’s still some time to cancel nearer the time if funds are tight, September looking stupidly busy for reissues, the typical time of year for that to happen of course but ive really gotten fond of Graham Parker in recent times, only have an MP3 copy of a 2cd best of. Thanks Paul. £27 is excellent deal, hope it goes through.

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Check your ‘subscription preferences’ at the bottom of any deal alert or newsletter. YOU are in control and can opt in and out whenever you like!

  10. Bill Thornton says:

Paul ,you are a true godsend . First Cocker, now Parker, you’ve saved me over $75 this week.
Do we owe you a commission? Thanks again

  11. Kai Karkkainen says:

Ordered, thank you Paul! I honestly don’t expect Amazon to honour this pre-order price, but stranger things have happened…

  12. Robert says:

Groovy. At this price I cant say no

  13. AFGreenwood says:

a much better deal than the Pink Floyd box (although I really want that too) and not full of stupid gimmicks. All I want is the music in a nice box with a reasonable book. this is perfect, especially at the German price if it holds.

  14. Felipe says:

Just ordered, thank you very much! Now I need to manage my anxiety until next october

  15. Paul W says:

What a great deal just ordered about 50 australian delivered thanks
    Paul your the best.

  16. Donal O'Connell says:

    Thanks Paul.

You have patience of job to put up with some of the snarky trolling on these posts.

    Keep up good work.

  17. Alan Blevin says:

Even if this is a pricing mistake Amazon Germany have been good in the past with honouring them.I got the Tommy box from them at $25Aus which is the equivalent of £12.
Now to cancel my Amazon UK order.

  18. gwynogue says:

I saw this last night, but decided to wait. Not a good idea with Amazon alerts, but this time I was lucky – the offer is still there now (12 hours later!) so looks like it could be legit. I think if it was a mistake, someone would have noticed by now (especially as it’s now #1 Rock bestseller!).

I must admit I don’t know many GP songs, but the handful of clips I saw on ‘rage’ (best music video show in the WORLD!) a few years ago was enough to make me want to hear more. And at this awesome price (around $AUD50 as previously mentioned) I might as well jump in at the deep end! Thanks Paul S and SDE!

  19. ANDREW r says:

    Thankssssssssssss Paul for PM!

  20. david says:

Great Deal thanks paul made order up to 30 euros for free delivery to uk.

    • AndyP says:

Don’t think you will get free delivery from Germany to UK, that 29 euro figure is only for deliveries within Germany.

  21. gwynogue says:

Now down to 24 euros! This deal is getting sweeter and sweeter!

  22. DaKraut says:

Just ordered it on amazon.de. Price was 24.17. Wonderful price for a wonderful artist’s work!

  23. Glenn says:

    Grabbed it also – thanks!

  24. Klaus says:

    @Alan Blevin

I’m starting to think that Amazon.de will honour the price but will leave the Amazon.co.uk order untouched until the last week before the release because who knows what’s going to happen to that price over the next few weeks?
Oh, and btw: I too ordered one other item to cross the 29 € barrier (I’m from Germany) and although my order went below that again because of Amazon.de lowering the price over the weekend they still don’t charge any p&p.
But “Deal of the year”? Still thinking that 14 cd’s of Joe Cocker for 19 GBP will be really hard to beat, unless of course, Amazon will be back to “A Night At The Odeon” and this time will fulfil the orders ;-))
Thank you Paul, not so much for making me spend lots of money, but at least for getting really great value for it.

  25. ken07 says:

Although I ordered both the Cocker & Parker Sets via SDE Alerts – both excellent bargains; for me deal of the year (and probably for a log time to come) remains Amazon UK honouring the SDE of ‘A Night At The Odeon’ at £12.99!

  26. Klaus says:

    @ken07

Well, did they? I understood that all these orders had been cancelled…

  27. Straker says:

Now up to 69.99! SDE readers collectively hold their breath to see if the low price will be honoured….

  28. ken07 says:

    @Klaus

A number of orders were honoured by Amazon UK – I ordered almost immediately after receiving the alert. The SDE arrived in France four days later. Def. bargain of the year and then some.

    • Klaus says:

Congratulations on this one then. Envy is just colouring my skin in an unhealthy looking light shade of yellow ;-))

  29. BritinDetroit says:

So with Straker letting us know that this nominee for bargain of the year has bloated up to 69.99 Euros, this will be the perfect “TrackaSDE Bargain” through the end of September when it is supposed to ship.

Hopefully other combatants will post if they hear anything. Sitting at 25.41 Euros with fingers crossed in Detroit Michigan.

  30. Wolfgang Mintrop says:

With a little wink to German customers: have a look at http://www.buecher.de/shop/musik/these-dreams-will-never-sleep-best-of-ltd-edt-/parkergraham–the-rumour/products_products/detail/prod_id/45548673/

Current Price is 19.99 EUR – but without any guarantee that item will be delivered for this Price, of course (due to some experiences of mine).

P&P rates: w/o within DE, 3.95 EUR to AT, 6.95 EUR to the most countries within the EU (have a look at: http://www.buecher.de/go/benefits/free_shipping/ )

Payment: http://www.buecher.de/show/service/bestellung-und-bezahlung/zahlungsarten/442931/ – you see: CC and PayPal is possible

  31. Straker says:

Now showing as Unavailable on Amazon Germany, France, Spain and Italy so it seems it really is a limited edition.

Now I want it all the more!!

  32. Wolfgang Mintrop says:

amazon.de starts canceling the orders and buecher.de has increased its price up to 72.99 EUR …

  33. Paul Lewis says:

My order was just cancelled by Amazon Germany, saying the price was a mistake! Especially weird as I had checked yesterday, and the price had actually gone down further on my order page!

  34. Klaus says:

FYI: Amazon.de just cancelled my order because of faulty pricing. I guess the same is going to happen with the “buecher.de” order, but less than 50 GBP on Amazon.co.uk will be a good price, too, won’t it?

  35. Matthias says:

My order on Amazon Germany was also cancelled…

  36. Chris L says:

    Same here. Grrrrr!

  37. eric slangen says:

And yes also with my order

    • Kai Karkkainen says:

My order was also cancelled. Can’t say that I’m surprised, I was pretty sure that the pre-order price wouldn’t be honoured. Oh well…

  38. colm47 says:

Ditto what the 7 commenters above have just said.

Oh well, too good to be true!

  39. gwynogue says:

Other people have said it already, but I’ll say it too: I have just received an email from Amazon Germany saying that the awesome deal price was a MISTAKE and (they) have CANCELLED the order! Bastards! :(

  40. Robert says:

Well it looks like Im not the only one – I received the email as well saying my order was cancelled
and the new listing is at a much higher price. Thats too bad. Its a nice set but for the price Ill pass for right now.

  41. BritinDetroit says:

F*** amazon Germany – order cancelled.

    Pissed in Detroit

  42. Brad says:

Has anybody challenged Amazon to honour their listed price?

    • BritinDetroit says:

      Brad

I have attempted to send a “balanced” email to the good folks in the USA blathering on about arbitrary cancellation of a bargain by their vile German subsidiary – probably being laughed at in some call center in Asia. In the event that I get anything other than lip service I will let you know.

  43. GRAEME EWAN says:

amazon.de have sent me an email saying “sorry” oh well, that makes it ok then( sarcasm). i shall rename the Sham-azon!!! boom boom. well, toys out of the perambulator from Dundee. weh weh weh.

  44. PAUL BAKEWELL says:

My order cancelled too, same as Queen one a while back – Tried it on with Customer Service (usually good) BUT they wouldn’t have it – not obliged to honour price unless payment is made :-(

  45. Peter says:

Yep and me, blame Paul Sinclair, if he hadn’t told us all about the Deal Alert, none of us would have ordered it, and now be disappointed !!!!!!! But seriously, first time I have had Amazon backtrack on an order they most often honour them, a la US with the Bob Marley tin box.

Will probably buy it in any case.

  46. Brad says:

    @BritinDetroit

Thanks, and I will try the same. They should honour their mistaken price.

  47. Felipe says:

    German buzzards! Cancelled mine too!

  48. Luigi Ponti says:

Don’t you think we can join together and report the amazon.de misleading way of deal with customers.
They’ve published an offer and they should honour it.
They cancelled my order and reply to my Mail with email saying they can’t honour this offer.

  49. Ian says:

What really annoys me is the time that the deal was up for coupled with the length of time taken to notice the “mistake”. And the price went down during that time! Granted it was a very nice price, but you can get lots of 5 classic albums deals on five cds for £9 delivered so pricing was on a par with this.

    • gwynogue says:

      +1

The deal price was up for nearly a WEEK! And even dropped a couple euros more during that time. And after that, it wasn’t even acknowledged – just changed to ‘out of stock’. If the price had been corrected within an hour or so then cancelled orders within a day, I’d accept. But to not notice the mistake for a week, then wait ANOTHER week before doing anything and cancelling is just poor form.

I’m afraid I won’t be re-ordering at the correct price. I just don’t know enough of G.P.’s music to spend nearly $100 (Australian) on a ‘punt’.

  50. DEREK CULLEN says:

same experience as everyone else ; wrote to Amazon but ignored….

  51. Dean Micheli says:

I just got an email from amazon.de that my order was canceled due to an incorrect price (or at least that’s what my Chrome translator tells me)

  52. Neil Rogers says:

The thing that annoys me is that I cancelled my UK order to grab the German deal – my original UK price was a lot cheaper than the current price of 55 pounds! In future, I’ll keep the UK order in place until just before the despatch period. Lesson learnt!

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Yes, that’s a good strategy, although you have to remember to cancel one of the orders before shipping. I’ve had a few duplicates over the years because I’ve forgotten to do this.

  53. Robert HPM Laversuch says:

Mine was cancelled also. Thanks for heads up though.

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Yes, very disappointing, given the fact that a) they actually reduced the price lower than the price most ordered it for, and it has been so long.

  54. Mark Story says:

Same sad story here, first problem I’ve ever had with any Amazon , oh well, I’ll probably buy it in the future when prices come down

  55. BritinDetroit says:

    I’m not giving up

I received a rather terse email from Ingrid somewhere in the Black Forest telling me they were not accepting my “offer” for the product (I kid you not) and I can send as many emails as I want but they are not changing their mind (I kid you not x2)

I have sent an email to someone rather elevated in Seattle.

  56. Simon Taylor says:

Mine too was cancelled but only just noticed to be honest. I have challenged before (with UK) and won but never tried before with Germany. Always worth a try, i’ll give it a go. Two or three harsh emails of pushing isnt that hard to do, even if they dont agree worth pushing for some sort of bargaining. As mentioned the error was not brief, it was up there for a long time. See what happens.

  57. BritinDetroit says:

Seattle sent Geetha from Executive Customer Services my way. Ms G told me in no uncertain terms “we won’t be able to comment further on this matter” – a right royal Teutonic telling off. Says Ms G, Amazon.de keeps the right to “adjust the price of the item if got instruction from the manufacturer that the price is incorrect”

Paul – should Amazon.de continue to be a recommended vendor on this site ? Maybe a three game suspension for bringing SDE in to disrepute ?

  58. Carsten says:

Mine was cancelled 2 days ago. Damn!

  59. Mark says:

Ben Non Paul; this has nothing to do with you or your site. (it’s not in disrepute at all)

  60. TopCat says:

Amazon Germany back down to 28 euros !

  61. Horslips says:

Just noticed I have also been cancelled.

@BritinDetroit – The use of the word “offer” was not accidental, strange as it may seem. Almost all on-line retailers have adjusted their terms and conditions so that customers (read as “mugs”) make an offer on-line for a product which they can accept or reject. No contract comes into being until you have our”offer” and their “acceptance”. Perversely, many retailers on-line only accept an offer when they post the item to you (not even when they charge your credit card – which I think it legally dubious anyway under the doctrine of part-performance).

  62. ADRIAN BARRETT says:

Given that Amazon have a price guarantee are they not breaking their own rules by cancelling these orders?

  63. Mitchell says:

For what it’s worth, Amazon.de is showing this title listed again at appx. 28 euros! I tried ordering it again; let’s see what happens this time…

    • gwynogue says:

So did I – the price has now shot right up to 94 euros (!!!) but my actual order page still shows me being charged 35 euros (including p+p) so fingers crossed!
