Pet Shop Boys / Undertow vinyl EP

The Pet Shop Boys will issue SUPER album track Undertow as a vinyl EP next month.

This vinyl record (presume it’s a 12-inch) will feature two remixes of Undertow, a remix of Burn, and a new version of Left to my own devices produced by Stuart Price (based on the Super Tour version).

As usual, artwork/design is handled by Farrow. There will be no CD single edition of this since they are exclusive to the now sold out Annually book.

Undertow will be released on 21 April 2017.

The 3-tracks on the CD are also released digitally (not that that concerns us round our way…)

Even though I no longer buy vinyl – two thumbs up to the PSB for continuing to issue physical formats.

    + postage Derek?

I’ll be buying this! Got Annually pre ordered but have to buy the vinyl too :-)

The only thing that interests me here is a mix of one of my favorite songs by them (Left To My Own Devices) but as soon as I see it’s a “(Not So-) Super” mix I’ll pass.

  5. elliott buckingham says:

what is the super mix is it a god awful modern computer made remix with the normal bass beat that speeds up then goes deeper or is it a new mix that stays true to the original

I thought an announcement for the new “Further Listening” discs was imminent. Aren’t they supposed to be released in April? I guess not.

  7. Shane says:

Ordered, and the sleeve looks stunning

Not too surprised to see the silence re: Further Listening albums. They’re still in the midst of a current tour and have a final single to promote – can easily see why they’d wait until its dust has settled a bit. That said, they can’t drag this out much longer. These have been rumored for soooooo long already, get on with it already!

  9. HS says:

While I pre-ordered the vinyl immediately I was really looking forward to Further Listenings. Hope these will be out soon…

sleeve looks like Blue Monday’88 ?….

  11. Thomas Allen says:

Have the Blue Monday vinyl. It does look quite similar.

  12. Shane says:

How does it look similar? I have it too..

Curious about the Stuart Price production of LTMOD.
A Trevor Horn production is always hard to top…

  14. Harry Grax says:

Yeah, probably a bit of a wasted effort updating a classic ‘imperial’ period Trevor Horn track. Perhaps it’s from their new as yet unannounced new album ‘Pointless’?

  15. Melvin says:

The reissues are scheduled for later in the year according to Annually. Definitely not April. Further Listening Editions of Nightlife, Release, Fundamental, Yes and Elysium. Some with two bonus discs. The initial six will also be reissued, and at some point a boxed set containing everything.

  16. Charlie D says:

It showed up on Spotify on Friday. Hurrah!
