Sony Legacy suggestion box

Sony Legacy RecordingsSony’s reissue imprint Legacy Recordings have launched a new website to encourage fans to tell them what they want to see released.

Visit the website and leave a comment about what you’d like to see issued on CD or vinyl – you might have an influence on future release schedules.

You can create your own suggestion, leave comments for others and also ‘vote’ for ideas fellow music enthusiastics put forward. In some cases the Legacy ‘webmaster’ will leave additional notes telling you if your suggestion is ‘under review’ or ‘planned’.

With Springsteen’s 40th anniversary of recording coming up in 2013, you would think legacy re-ssues of Greetings and The Wild, The Innocent etc both issued in 1973 would be shoo ins.

Given he performed complete versions of both albums on the 2009 at Buffalo and Madison Square Garden respectively, it wouldn’t be too difficult to put together double disc releases.

Just as long as they don’t consider butchering Lost In The Flood into 2 parts or having Incident segue into Sandy as on the original UK cassette releases.

I suggested the complete double album version of ELO’s Secret Messages, including “Beatles Forever”. It’ll never happen, but it’s worth a punt, I suppose!

I suggest a three-disc reissue of Korn’s eponymous debut album in 2014 that can include their “Neidermeyer’s Mind ” demo tape and several known b-sides as the unreleased material for the second disc and a complete 1994 live concert for the material of the third disc. This just came in my mind since Rage Against the Machine’s debut album is going to be reissued on November 27, 2012.
