The Prodigy / The Fat Of The Land 15th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

XL Recordings are set to reissue The Prodigy‘s 1997 album The Fat Of The Land on 3 December, and amongst the formats released will be the original double LP, CD and download, plus deluxe double CD and deluxe digital editions.

The album was a massive commercial success entering at the top of the US album charts and reaching number one in 24 countries.  The new deluxe editions will add a disc of newly commissioned remixes from artists picked by the band, including Noisia, Alvin Risk, Zeds Dead, Baauer, The Glitch Mob and Major Lazer.

Surprisingly, the remixes will also be available separately – all six as a download EP and four of them on a vinyl EP called The Added Fat.

I fully agree with your comments and assessment. I too paid for the exclusive membership-bought the deluxe edition of RAM-so I assumed I now had TWO years–well two years of squat! LIVE KISSES, no offense, I tried to listen to the that album and it put me to sleep. LIVE KISSES-more like DEAD KISSES-OK so it is a Halloween reference. Well at least I have a lithograph that also sucks! Bottom line-very dissappointed. I was really looking forward to seeing what would be provided and it appears the answer is NADA. The RAM purchase should have been a canary in the coal mine-I wondered why they gave away what I just paid $40 for and since I was one of 4400 folks who paid, I assumed they would assume I would BUY the premium RAM, just as I did Band on the Run. It sucks to be loyal and expensive!

This is such a poor release to celebrate one of the most important cross-over albums ever released…there is a good CD’s worth of B-Sides, Remixes and unreleased tracks from the era (1997)..so why do we get modern remixes by some less than exciting (imho) artists? Why do we only get 6 tracks? There is a lot more space on CD2 remaining. They could of added One Man Army and The Trick, how about the Firestarter/SMBU hybrid from the Radio 1 maida vale session?

Getting fed up with shoddy reissues…plus when I last looked this was selling for just shy of £13!
