  2. Michael G says:

Totally agree this Box Set is all about the music.
Everyone involved in this project must be congratulated!
Other record labels please take note marbles, coasters, reproduction tickets etc have nothing to do with music,it’s just filler tat produced to bump up the price of certain Box Sets.

  3. Andy Tain says:

I always loved the fact that Charlie held out releasing the ‘Peel Sessions’ until such time that it fell into the correct placement.
The man is a legend and must have a diesel engine inside him.
If I’m doing 1/4 of what he is achieving at his age, id take it now!
Lost count of how many times ive seen them [but not the 100 plus of previous poster … Maybe 25/30] and now days the love and respect in the crowd for Charlie is just stunning. [and deserved]

  4. Matthew Breach says:

Not a fan and won’t be buying, but I do commend the quality and price point of this – if I was a fan I’d be over the moon! If it was less limited I’d almost have bought it to try, but don’t want to deprive a true fan.

  5. The Golden Age Of ---- --'- says:

I am doing what I am normally against, posting on a thread regarding a band I don’t know. But this is in praise of what must be a profitless venture for the band who are giving their fans not one, but two superb sets. Good on you Charlie Harper and may you live forevermore!

  6. Matthew Holbrook says:

Steve – Marsheaux had a 7″ sleeve for a CD release called Our Girls on Films. Basically, it had a button glued inside the sleeve to hold the CD. Rather tricky to operate though.

  7. SimonF says:

I’ve got the first three albums on vinyl, plus all the 7″ singles which are covered by tracks 1-19 on the bonus disc #1 in various shades of colour, and I think that’s quite enough UK Subs for me. But this is a fine collection for the hardcore fans, and it’s great to know that the Subs did achieve the full alphabet of 26 albums. This has also inspired me to dig out those albums for a good weekend of listening!

  8. Francesco says:

Way to go! No unnecessary books, coasters, key-rings or whatever. In fact no clutter at all, just the music, at a more than reasonable price. If only I liked the band…

  9. Ian McJannet says:

Well I can’t stand this band but I applaud these two packages..
What an absolute treat for fans and at what I think is a very reasonable price.
Other distributers please take note !!!!

  10. Yani P says:

Admission time that I have seen these live over 100 (yes 100) times..so agree – very hardworking band !!
CID still one of the great punk tracks

  11. Steve says:

7″ sleeves for 4.7″ discs. Interesting choice, I am very curious to see more details of how that works out!

Echoing others, this sounds like a great pair of releases, but I will step back and let others snap them up. I would hate to be the cause of a true fan being deprived. :)

Also, being 74 and facing signing 1000 units! Uff da! Go Charlie!

    • Chris Squires says:

It’s how the “Boxing the Shadows” set was produced. I thought it worked out quite nicely, plenty of room for notes for the agedly half-blind and a decent sleeve reproduction.

  12. Paul Murphy says:

I wonder if any Cambodian groups are trying this!

  13. Ian Hartley says:

They are punk rock legends and Charlie Harper is now over 70 years of age but they must be one of the hardest working live acts around. They NEVER stop touring. It is well worth checking out !

  14. Jurgen says:

Well I had the same thought as madman! Don’t know them and no interest in punk but what a great idea to release an album for each letter of the alphabet!

  15. madman says:

An album for each letter in the alphabet, I love that idea! If it wasn’t such a limited edition, I’d pick it up just out or curiousity.
