Paul McCartney unveils Egypt Station ‘Traveller’s Edition’ box set

It’s strangely in keeping with its theme of travel and trains (at least for those of us in the UK) that Paul McCartney‘s Egypt Station box set arrives so late. The fact that a box set was in production was clear from day one, but details of this ‘traveller’s edition’ super deluxe have only just been announced and the set itself won’t be shipping until May, eight months after the album was released. Peter Jackson to revamp The Beatles ‘Let It Be’ film from original footage
Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson, best known for his Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, is collaborating with The Beatles to produce a new film from the 55 hours of footage originally filmed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg for what turned into ‘the intimate bioscopic experience’ that was 1970’s Let It Be motion picture.

In October, Universal Music will reissue John Lennon‘s 1971 Imagine album across a number of physical formats as Imagine – The Ultimate Collection. The most exciting of these is a new six-disc (four CDs and two blu-ray audio discs) super deluxe edition box set that is ‘remixed and remastered’ and contains all manner of outtakes, sessions, demos, alternate takes, surround mixes, and more. 135 tracks in total.

New album announced • Few details • ‘Deluxe’ coloured vinyl is £50
Paul McCartney‘s new album is titled Egypt Station and will be issued in September.
His 17th studio solo long-player has been produced by Greg Kurstin (except for one Ryan Tedder track) and contains 14 songs, including the ‘double A-side single’ combo of I Don’t Know and Come on to Me. A physical release of this ‘single’ hasn’t been confirmed and isn’t looking particularly likely.
