This 2014 Donna Summer ‘Driven By The Music’ vinyl box contains seven albums issued during the 1980s and has dropped to a very low price on Amazon UK in recent days.
This set features the albums The Wanderer, Donna Summer, Cats Without Claws, All Systems Go, Another Place And Time and Mistaken Identity, along with well the ‘initially shelved’ 1981 album I’m A Rainbow, which gets its vinyl debut here (having been issued on CD in 1996).
The box features 12” x 12” booklet, with new liner notes and brand new interviews undertaken with the likes of Brenda Russell, Greg Phillinganes, Harold Faltermeyer and more. At the time of writing this vinyl box is just £53 on Amazon UK.

I would love to see vinyl re-releases from her Casablanca years. I really hope that it will not stay a wish…..
Edsel could not get the rights to She Works Hard.
I baught this box for 42 GBP on 1st September 2016!! Very low price!!!!
Ummm – apologies if I’m missing something obvious – it’s probably a licensing issue or something – but where’s ‘She Works Hard for the Money’? That was her biggest album in the 80s. Looking at the packaging though, they’ve just dumped some vinyl in a box – it doesn’t actually say ’80s’ or is themed in any way, so I guess that’s how they can leave it out.
Her album “She works hard for the money” was not included in the CD Box Set either. I think it is something to do with the album being on a different record label to the others.
I have the CD box and most of the original vinyls. I would have grabbed this at around 50 pounds but the price is now up to 100…
Would prefer the ‘DONNA’ CD Box Set at a deal bargain price! I only buy old vinyl, 12inch singles and rarely (never new vinyl releases).
Let’s face facts, this is Donna Summer – The Rubbish Years.
Wonder why they didn’t call it that ;)
Says you, these albums, for the most part are really good pop efforts…
A touch unfair. Though it may not be up with the Moroder years material, there is much to enjoy on these albums, especially Another Place and Time. However, having bought the CD box with the extra tracks and having no record player, I’ll have to pass on this.
