With the news of a new Gorillaz album, here’s an opportunity to pick up the 14LP super deluxe of the last record, Humanz for almost half price!

This set is immense. You get 14 vinyl records all pressed on different coloured vinyl with individually artworked sleeves. It comes with a 54-page, cloth-bound, foil-blocked, hardback book of Gorillaz artwork by Jamie Hewlett and a download card, all housed in a bespoke 12” vinyl case! This set is still £275 on the official site, but you can snap one up right now on Amazon UK for less than £150, which is as cheap as I’ve seen this.

Cant disguise mutton however hard you try.

  2. RJS says:

Imagine if they ever do a Complete Gorillaz vinyl box set? About 100 slabs of 12″ vinyl…

  3. -SG- says:

Back in the olden days, these b-sides would have been collected on a tidy cd for about $12.

  4. -SG- says:

That was a good price for the set but just not a very good album. Despite my efforts I could not get into this one. Had this record been anything like the first three this set would have sold off long ago. I think it is harder to justify buying it when you have trouble getting interested in the regular album. And then you need to find somewhere to put this thing.

  5. Chris Lancaster says:

Many thanks, Paul, for this post. I’d been wanting this for some time, but I have a strict rule that I never spend more than £200 on a single set. £150 was a bargain, so thank you — and ignore the sniping!

  6. Richard says:

Keep up the good work Paul, some people are never happy!
I’m still grinning from getting £30 off the last Bowie box Anciant.
    Thanks again.

  7. Kev the Rev says:

Anyone looking for a little more substance should pop over to the Amazon outlet and buy the box set beautifully reproducing 6 magical LPs by John Fahey with booklet and T-shirt. It’s less than half the price I paid (grrrrr) at only £64.

  8. Nick says:

    Wasn’t at £150 for long! £201 now….

  9. NeilKelly says:

I agree with Paul he’s here to help. F off with your sniping either you want it or not. It’s an SDE alert. That means cheaper than usual / ever. Don’t shoot the messenger

    Deal gone

  11. Dean Taylor says:

Would love to pick this up but it’s beyond reach at the moment .. yes it’s just some fancy colletors item .. but surely that’s the point …
Mind you , looking at the product photo on Amazon and that bespoke record case does not appear to have the lightning flashes on it.. A new cheaper edition maybe?…

    • Paul Sinclair says:

No, an old image. They are the same.

      • Chris Squires says:

If you look at the other stuff in the photo it’s all in the identical position. So it’s probably the photo that was taken before the final design motif for the box was finished, then some photoshopping got us the final image.

To those that can’t seem to help but moan at everything that isn’t specifically directed at them. What is wrong with you? If you don’t want to buy don’t buy.
A Rolls Royce might not be for you but if they normally retail at £200k and you see an offer at £120k it is a bargain for someone who might be interested. It doesn’t matter a flying fig whether you see it as overpriced.

  12. DaKraut says:

I think the idea behind this set is to present something incredibly elaborate – such as the Queen box set with all vinyl in different colours. It would just set me back too much currently, but otherwise I would buy it in a flash, because it’s just a visual pleasure – no matter how much music is on it. It’s the package that counts…just my 2 (Euro) Cents…

  13. ANDREW r says:

Now £164 is this still a bargain?
    Serious question

    • Paul Sinclair says:

It’s £105 cheaper than on the official site and about £300 cheaper (!) than in the USA. So it’s a significant saving. Can’t be bothered to get into semantics about the definition of a ‘bargain’… I have other things to do!

      • ANDREW r says:

Not semantics Paul and i wasn’t having a go apologies if you thought that. i merely want to know Where does the price point of this item lie?
When does it stop being a bargain ? Was it worth even £164 ?
People made enough fuss about the Roxy pricing but it is effectively 14 12″
        singles. in a box

  14. Dave says:

A steal? It’s still one album with few extra tracks and a book. I also see no reason at all to press this on 12“ discs. It’s just some fancy collectors item – totally overpriced to (for 275). No thanks…

    • Paul Sinclair says:

The merits of the box is a completely separate argument.. There is a vague presumption that you’ll only be interested in saving over £100 if you like the idea of the box in the first place, so please people no more ‘I’m not interested in buying this’ comments… because it really doesn’t add anything.

  15. Phil says:

I just saved £149.91 by not buying it!!

  16. Chris Squires says:

I already picked this up in the January 40% off Vinyl offer, but as that was at £175.99 this is even better. Some companies across the board (amazon / 3rd party / ebay) are asking silly money (£300 – £500+) for this, so under £150 is a steal.
