I sent my original request sometime in october 2015 and it is not october 2016 and still have not received my replacement. They also have not responded to a single email that i have sent asking for an update!

Some people have received replacements for the faulty Rock n Roll during the last 6 months but there seems no rhyme and reason as to who has got them. It certainly hasn’t been a batch shipment of replacements and the original boxes don’t seem to have been fixed.

I never bought it in the first place because reviews mentioned the printing of the cover art was substandard.

BE WARNED. I ordered this from and it was just delivered BUT I had to pay £33.87 import charge!!! This is ridiculous, together with the shipping charge and this it would have been cheaper to buy in the UK!!
I’ll never buy from outside the UK again!!

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Potential import charges are par for the course if you order outside the EU (assuming you’re in the UK/Europe). Not sure what postage you paid but £33.87 + £65 is still cheaper than £120.

      • H says:

        Hi Paul
Yes I know now, but never really thought about it at the time, as you obviously don’t pay duties when you order from EU countries. It was the first time I ordered stuff from outside the EU, so it never entered by mind, stupid I know!
As for the price, shipping was in addition to the price you mention so for the box set plus shipping I paid £92.36 plus £33.67 for duties!
Also I forgot how awful Yoko Ono sounds and wish I never bought this now! But again, my fault for a bad memory!

        • H says:

Like some others have experienced, my set has the same issue with the Rock And Roll LP and also there is a problem with the quality of the pressing, some tracks are skipping!
The whole thing is bad really, I tried to return it to Amazon, but as you have to return it to Canada shipping it back will be around £80 at best and they won’t give you a pre-paid return label, so you have to pay for shipping and hope you get the money back!
That’s not going to happen, so I have basically wasted £125!!!
          NEVER AGAIN!

Be warned that there have been issues with the Rock And Roll LP included in this set…

And replacements are supposed to be done here:

BUT…I’ve claimed my replacement back in mid-October of 2015 and have NOT received it yet. On top of that, they have yet to answer a single email I’ve sent asking for status. Unacceptable!

  5. John says:

Sold out in Canada, but $108.61 at

First time on a Amazon waiting list. Great experience, thanks to SDE! So enough of you lads will have to cancel before I get the price. I am not too optimistic…

  7. H says:

Was confused at first, but as Mark & Paul said, the waiting list worked for me too. Thanks everyone.

  8. Bob says:

Just missed nevermind saves customs hassle

  9. Matt Clark says:

I went on the waitlist and just got through – SCORE! Even with £20 shipping to the UK it’s still a great price. Thanks SDE….

    • Straker says:

Just got an package this week courier delivered to the door via their cheapest shipping option. Goods were under the limit so no fees but be warned, this Lennon set will incur extra charges so have your chequebook ready.

  10. Mark says:

The waitlist worked – thanks Paul!

Are people sleeping next to their computer or tablet waiting for a mail from SD Alert. Gone in a few minutes/ :-(

An educated guess as for why people get in so quick on these deals is simply down to modern technology. A lot of people receive e-mails instantly on their smart phones and can react in seconds to an alert (I’m in that category)

I didn’t however choose to go for this particular deal, so no blame on my side for the deal running out so quick this time :)

  12. Neil Kelly says:

Just clicked on (not that i want this). Price is 119.99 CDN$ so how has the deal gone?

  13. Geert De Wilde says:

Still with the wonky ‘Rock and Roll’ version?

  14. Atane says:

    Ordered, thanks !! :)

  15. GB says:

Damn, was too slow in checking, already gone!
    Thanks for the info anyway
