Further Amazon Easter deals

The Easter Deals Week on Amazon Germany continue today with, if anything, an even better selection than yesterday with sets from The Moody Blues, The Who, Massive Attack, Steely Dan, James Brown and Nirvana amongst those scheduled to be heavily discounted in the next 12 hours.

You probably know the drill by know – these special ‘lightning deals’ will only last for a short period until the ‘allocation’ has reached 100%. For popular sets with heavy discounts than can be literally gone in seconds – but not always! Don’t discount getting on the ‘waiting list’ if you miss out and if you used Google Chrome the translation of German is automatic!

Why take the risk of forgetting about a deal? Sign up for the SDE Deal Alerts via Email service then you will get a timely email just before the deal goes live!

This post will be updated frequently during today as deals come and go. Good luck!

Live at 6pm GMT/UTC: The Beatles Live at the BBC 2CD set. Note the price will not change until exactly 6pm!!

  2. Eddie says:

Now the Roxy box is back up to 64.49 Euros….that’s a shame….

    • bob says:

I am sure it will come back down again. This must be a new pressing as both German and UK Amazon say it will be in stock at the end of March.
It was over £100 for ages on Amazon UK but has slowly crept down to £51 now. Keep checking daily as the prices change often.

  3. Stan Butler says:

Judas Priest’s 19 CD “The Complete Albums Collection” is on at 4.30pm, Thursday. Good value even at it’s current price, so it will be interesting to see how much it goes for. Almost wish I didn’t have a copy already.

  4. John says:

On March 20th, I paid $74.64/£50.03/€68.22 for the ROXY MUSIC box set on including shipping to the U.S.A.. NOW, it’s listed for $53.24/£35.69/€48.66. Ugh, you can’t win ’em all.

  5. thegreatelephant says:

Roxy Music info. nice. cancelled my 2 uk ones for 2 german ones. 20 odd quid saving.

  6. Marc says:

    Thanks for the Roxy info.
I missed the original offer and had been looking for a price drop.

  7. renato says:

Please told this system is THE WORST ever!

  8. bob says:

I know this is in the wrong place but the Roxy Music 10 cd box set is back on Amazon Germany for €49.50. Great price I bagged it a couple of weeks ago.

  9. Manu says:

Just in case, there is the Phantom of the Opera (25th Anniversary Collection) @ €45 with :

    • Original Cast Recording
    • Love Never Dies cast recording
    • DVD
    • Hardback Book
    • Replica First Night Programme
    • Exclusive Medallion

    It’s £126 on .uk

  10. Boaz Halachmi says:

Well, good spending day… :-) off to get some rest for the APP box tomorrow.

  11. karl says:

has anyone had luck being on a waiting list? Just missed the steely dan.

    • thegreatelephant says:

yeah, i bagged a Steely Dan box- i’d fancied that for a long time. i put the order in around 5.02 – reserved- and 15 mins later was lucky when the box to buy AUTO popped up. i made the mistake on another item by not knowing the score and coming out of the page entirely when on the reserved list, which i was on. need to stay in the page to know, so i might have got lucky. this is my first time using this cockamamie system and thanks to a couple of Paul pointers and reading the German translation I cracked how it works and the list did produce the item.

  12. thegreatelephant says:

sussed it. reckon i came out of the site early not knowing the box pops ups auto after reserving if lucky. that was lamens terms- i understand them

  13. Manu says:

Just grabbed a Steely Dan box.

Now 100% reserved! My advice : be faster than light if you want something ;-)

  14. Michael Pendlebury says:

My German’s not the best but I think I’ve just picked up the Steely Dan box set! Entered the waiting room and having downloaded the Amazon Ap I was told I could still get it! Thanks for the great work!

  15. John says:

Got Citizen Steely Dan for $25.87/£17.34/€23.64 including shipping to the U.S.A.. That’s 50% off the (US) price of $50.98/£34.17/€46.60. Thanks, Superdeluxeedition!

  16. Leslie Hanagan says:

Just bagged a copy of the Steely Dan box – thanks.

  17. jay says:

what is this island super deluxe box that is coming up? i can’t seem to find any description of it beyond a track list. (doesn’t help that work blocks lots of sites thankfully not this one)

  18. William K says:

Nirvana In Utero Super Deluxe tomorrow at 3 o clock.

  19. Manu says:

Sorry for the typos, mobile writing ;)

  20. Manu says:

Manager to grabuge one Camel box.
    Thank a lot ;)

  21. spot says:

    And also:
Chuck Berry: Have Mercy-His Complete Chess Recordings 69-74 (Box Set): 20,99€

  22. Geoff says:

Beatles At The BBC 2CD is at 6pm with the vinyl 3-LP scheduled for 10am tomorrow. Siouxsie & The Banshees At The BBC at 10:30am also.

  23. spot says:

    Camel – Rainbow’s End-a Camel Anthology 1973-1985 (Box-Set): 15,99€

  24. Alan says:

Yep, got the JB set too, but have to stop the compulsion – that’s enough for today!

  25. Michael says:

I managed to snag the Martha Reeves and the James Brown – I must stop there, but this has been fun!

  26. Friso Pas says:

Holy smokes, that went fast, but I got the JB boxset. Looks like there were only a few…I mean, how can they go so fast? Even with the Lightning Deals on the UK site, you have at least 1 minute, or so…

  27. spot says:

James Brown – Star Time (New Version) (Box-Set): 15,99€

  28. johnny says:

Got a reserved’ VU box. Came through after 15 minutes…

    Thanks for the tip!

    • spot says:

That was probably me since I had it in my cart but didn’t end up buying it. I’m not really into VU and there’s enough great deals to come this week, so I skipped it.

  29. Alan says:

Got the VU box bang on 1.00 – cheers Paul and spot!

  30. Danny says:

Oh. Just picked up the Velvet Underground box. It looks as though if you just sit on the page you might get lucky…

Paul, thanks for posting these – really good service you provide for us, even if it does empty wallets like there’s no tomorrow!

  31. Danny says:

    Velvet underground went very quickly…

Thanks for posting the link on future offers Spot. I can’t help wondering why Paul hasn’t told us about the Olly Murs deal… ;-)

  32. David says:

Oh I’m reserved again! The anxiety is killing me.

  33. David says:

Looks like the Massive Attack is all gone – I’m no longer reserved?

  34. Disappointed says:

You posted the wrong link for the Velvet Underground offer – it goes to the Massive Attack set.

  35. gianluca says:

    thanks a lot Spot!

  36. Geoff says:

    Missed it – 13:00.02.

  37. Manu says:

The Velvet gone is 1 second…

  38. spot says:

Velvet Underground – Peel Slowly and See (Box-Set): 23,99€

  39. gianluca says:

Jerry Garcia, Merl Saunders – Keystone Companionsm was not advertised as a deal alert how have you found it, is there a link on informing about the so-called blitzangebote?

However I manged to get Allman Bros br, Rush sector 1 and Nirvana box

    Thanks Paul

    • spot says:,c:255882,s:available

By clicking on the right arrow button you can navigate through the next couple of hours’ offers.

  40. Hedley says:

Sie sind auf der Warteliste für dieses Angebot

I have to Angebot for the Tommy Super Deluxe ? Between being Reserviet and Angebot’d I am not optimistic about the 43Euro purchase. Still I can surf in and out of Germany for the next three hours and do some carpetbagging or something

Poncing in Detroit, and hated by Madonna

  41. baward says:

They can’t REALLY want to sell many items if offers only last for mere seconds. Missing a deal wouldn’t make me want to check again or pay full price.

  42. David says:

‘100% reserviert’ for the next 4 hours! Is it worth waiting for this or is all hope lost? It’s for the Massive Attack.

  43. David Adams says:

Bagged a copy of the Massive Attack €36 inc. post to Ireland
    Thanks Paul

  44. Adam says:

Massive Attack gone in less than 30 seconds, it would seem.

  45. Boaz Halachmi says:

Grabbed both… Tommy and Nirvana (waited 15 min on the waiting list and got it).

  46. spot says:

    Massive Attack – Blue Lines: 2012 Remix/Remaster (Ltd. 2LP+CD+DVD-Audio): 29,99€
Jerry Garcia, Merl Saunders – Keystone Companions: the Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings (4CD-Set): 18,99€

  47. Hedley says:

100% Reserviet ! Excellent I thought job done with my chums at , until my translator told me that means stand-offish

So I guess I have to back away from the Tommy at 43 euros.

  48. gary C says:

I do seem to think a lot of these deals are being hoovered up by carpetbaggers, you won’t be able to move for these boxsets on Ebay…or is music really such a broad church?

  49. thegreatelephant says:

how does the waiting list work?

    • Paul Sinclair says:

If you manage to add something to your cart in time, you’ve reserved it. But many people for whatever reason may not actually purchase. When those become free people on the waiting list get them in order of priority.

      • thegreatelephant says:

thanks for the response. how do you know when you can buy yours on the list and how long a time do you get?

        • Paul Sinclair says:

On the site a little window pops up top right to say you have got one in your shopping cart. You then have 10 or 15 minutes to check out before losing it.

          • thegreatelephant says:

i was on the list but the item never appeared- i read below someone else was on the list and bagged theirs. how do i know it will get to the cart? keep refreshing the same page?

          • Paul Sinclair says:

No, it does it automatically. So you’ve been unlucky. The ‘add to cart’ button automatically becomes ‘add me to the waiting list’ if it’s reached 100% so you still need to click on that asap.

          • thegreatelephant says:

cheers for that info. i’ll know what to look out for in future. might have cocked something up this time

      • thegreatelephant says:

if ‘carpetbagging’ redistributes money from ponces who spend their time stealing off the majority but are not savvy to the ways of the internet- i am all for that redistribution

  50. richie says:

Missed Rush Sector 2 yesterday, managed 1 & 3 today and Richard Thompson at the BBC, happy.
I now have to get Sector 2, but it`s at about £22 on UK Amazon, so that`s not a bad deal.
I believe the probs with the Sectors when first issued has been ironed out.

Paul I hope you know I`ve eaten into my April music fund and there`s 3 more days left!

  51. David Glennon says:

FFS. Crashed and I ended up on the waiting list.

  52. Alan says:

Why don’t Amazon UK ever seem to do these great deals?!

  53. BRENEZ Alain says:

Managed to buy a copy of the Nirvana box set as well.
Although there was much criticism on the sound of the original album for this box set, 37.99 € sounds like a ‘no risk’ purchase to me.

  54. Danny says:

Funnily enough I went back to the page and it went through without problems. Yay! (ahem)

  55. Christoph says:

What was that deal with Nirvana? Gone in a second?

  56. Danny says:

12.01 – just tried to buy the Richard and Linda Thompson at the BBC set: already gone!

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Surprised that one went so quickly. Are you on the waiting list? Amazingly I managed to snag a Nirvana!

      • John says:

Same here with The Who Tommy SDE… gone in a flash!
When it comes to these orders do Amazon Germany have a policy of “We’re not gonna take it”!??

  57. David Glennon says:

How come I can’t see the prices at all? Am I looking in the wrong place?!

    • Paul Sinclair says:

The prices changed at the specific time. With Nirvana/Who it was 12 noon. You would have had less than 10 secs to order

  58. spot says:

Nirvana – Nevermind (Super Deluxe Ed.): 37,99€
    The Who – Tommy (Ltd. Super Deluxe Ed. 3CD & Audio-Blu-ray): 43,99€
Richard and Linda Thompson Live at the BBC (3CD+DVD): 24,99€

  59. spot says:

They’re called Rush for a reason, it seems.

  60. peter chrisp says:

Rush sector box sets, now i remember when they first came out each “Sector” a few days later all sets are or were faulty in the fact although
it’s inclusive the cd’s were fine but the dvd’s were not in surround sound,
    and had problems

  61. John says:

Gone in seconds, missed it even though I saw it changing to 17.99 at 11:30!

  62. spot says:

    Rush – Sector 3 (Box-Set): 17,99€

  63. spot says:

    Rush – Sector 1 (Box-Set): 16,99€

  64. spot says:

    Foreigner: Acoustique (2CD+DVD): 4,49€

  65. Boaz Halachmi says:

Are the Tommy and Nirvana’s SDEs worth having?

    • Paul Sinclair says:

Tommy definitely. Nirvana is compressed to hell, but the box is quite nice.

      • spot says:

        Martha Reeves & the Vandellas – 50th Anniversary- The Singles Collection 1962-1972 (Box-Set): 18,99€

    • spot says:

The Nirvana box for half the price is definitely worth it. Great book, great demos and live show. Way better than the In Utero box. The album itself is compressed though, so keep your old Nevermind cd as well.

  66. Rob Deighton says:

I wonder how much the Tommy box set will be. I bet it won’t beat the 19euro error when it was first released :)

  67. gary C says:

Good spot, Spot! That Motown Box has got great sound, to my ears anyway…

  68. spot says:

Various – A Complete Introduction to Tamla Motown (4CD-Set): 13,99€
