← ABC to release The Lexicon of Love II
ABC / The Lexicon of Love II – follow-up to Lexicon of Love
“The Lexicon Of Love” (1982) was a perfect album for the time…..and everything about it was beautifully presented: the songs, the production, the art…..
I take it the songs will all be new……not re-makes!?
Hmm, the Lexicon of Love II, if title informs the direction of the music, then, well, good. It is a sequel, but honestly what can we expect here it isn’t 1982 either so no point in criticizing, no one here will be 21 again. If you don’t like ABC or the Lexicon Of Love you will probably not like this record. Trevor horn, hmm not sure if that really matters at this point, though I gave great respect for his work, his more recent productions, though impeccably done, have sounded much more Rock as opposed to the New Romantic Disco Funk of early ABC.
Kiss me Goodbye and Viva Love were written for unreleased followup to Abracadabra, so kinda strange, and kinda cool, they deserved better than being anomalies to the ABC cannon. I suppose that is a way to get Mark White on the credits, though it would be even better if he joined in on the music again. I saw ABC about 3 years ago and they were great, I never though I would get the chance to see ABC live and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m glad glad Martin and Co. are still making music.
