Signed deluxe CDs • Signed coloured vinyl
James will release a new album, Living In Extraordinary Times, in August.
It’s the band’s 15th studio long-player and the first since 2016’s Girl at the End of the World. Speaking about the record (which is produced by Charlie Andrew and Beni Giles) frontman Tim Booth said: “We knew something was up when Leicester city won the league then Brexit, then Trump. It is as if we’d slipped into an alternate reality, a Philip K Dick reality. We are living in extraordinary times.”
Living In Extraordinary Times will be available on CD, double black vinyl and a deluxe casebound book CD edition which offers four bonus tracks.
HMV (UK Shipping only) and ‘indies’ are doing a double LP with a special grey cover with the audio pressed on magenta vinyl
That’s only scratching the surface though, because the official James store is offering its own coloured (white) vinyl exclusive with a signed art print, signed deluxe CDs and various bundles, including a ‘Super Deluxe Father’s Day‘ package!
Living In Extraordinary Times will be released on 3 August 2018.

Well i preordered mine (official james store) 2 days after this announcement was made and didn’t arrived signed today i’m completely disappointed.
Am i imagining things or did the price of the deluxe on Amazon just jump £5 ?
Albums released on double vinyl that don’t include the bonus tracks from the deluxe CD are just wrong (Rudimental did this with “We The Generation”).
I wasn’t completely sold on ‘Girl…’ either, though it had some great tracks. I love the album before that though, and I’ll definitely be getting this.
£8 UK postage for a CD/vinyl bundle seems a bit steep to me.
I have often wondered why anybody would buy the standard CD when the deluxe versions with extra tracks are only a couple of pounds more.
All items including signed stuff is reasonably priced compared to other bands releases we’ve seen recently.
Will we ever see a seven super deluxe edition with an uncut live DVD. One of my favourite albums of all time
Can’t believe they’re still at it, they’ve outlasted their rivals THE SMITHS
Rivals? The Smiths split up a full 12 months before James released their SECOND album!
James’ first single came out before “This Charming Man”.
That may be so but they were never rivals of The Smiths. The first I heard of James was when Morrissey was photographed wearing one their T-Shirts in NME, Melody Maker, Record Mirror or some such publication.
I saw them support The Smiths in 1985 when Gavin Whelan was still their drummer, and they were electrifying – they totally wiped the floor with Morrissey et al. Their manic edge dissipated once they signed to Sire, and I don’t think they ever really got it back.
I’ve seen James twice, both in the nineties, once supporting Neil Young and once when some band I’d never heard of called the Stereophonics were supporting them. They really are an excellent live band and their live DVD comes highly recommended. I was never a fan until seeing them perform. That support band were pretty good, too. I wonder what happened to them?
James are that rare thing: a band that just seems to get better with time. Even the cheapest signed bundle weighs heavy on the wallet right now, but I just couldn’t resist. Keep them coming, James! This world needs you.
Didn’t like the last album – but the new tracks sound promising. Preordered white vinyl!
You’re mad the official last album was class! But the one previous was among, if not their best. Again I have high hopes going on current form!
La Petite Mort is excellent, one of their best releases.
James are one of the few bands whose post-reformation work has been up to their original catalogue. wasn’t complete sold on “Girl…” but absolutely here for this.
They also released a four track ep last week with 2 extra tracks. Can’t wait for the album!
So a six track EP then?
Father’s Day is 17 June .
I see they will be sending a t-shirt and card to arrive for the day, but then dad has to wait 7 weeks for the album (four copies!). It’s not going on my wish list.
