  1. Tim Barton says:

Ordered. I missed out on the Decca box from the early 2000s, so I could not pass on this. It would be nice to see new TJ album soon, as well! Loved the last three!

  2. Paul Berney says:

The set is delayed until December 18th. Likely due to UK lockdown. May even be pushed to 2021, if it happens at all, as per 2016. Sounds selfish with so many people dying during a pandemic, but it seems sad we can’t now even have these little things that bring just a small smile to our face during the most challenging year this generation has ever faced.

  3. David Ware says:

I have just received a mail from Amazon. De advising me that Tom Jones The Complete Decca will not be delivered before December 23/24…no explanation as to why…..
    Any ideas Paul?

  4. Phil says:

Delta Lady isn’t in this box nor has it been on any official TJ album as far as I’m aware.

  5. Marcelo Gobello says:

The “Delta Lady” version with Joe Cocker is superb!

  6. Phil says:

Further to my previous post, the four track On Stage E.P. containing studio recordings with fake applause is also omitted. (two of the tracks without the added applause were on the U.S. only What’s New Pussycat album).

  7. Mark says:

Confused about 2 CDs over 17, where are the listings for the other 15? Or is this just a compilation?

  8. Phil says:

The 2CD rarities disc unfortunately appears to omit Kiss Kiss which was only on a compilation album in the 60’s. Additionally a few unreleased at the time bonus tracks included on the 90’s Deram CDs are also missing. Still a great set though.

  9. Jan says:

The Amazon Italy code still worked for me at 09:52 06/11 REGALO5

  10. Larry Davis says:

Only 1 Tom Jones…he transcends guilty pleasure…grew up with his stuff ..sorta, then as a joke (thought so then) in the 90s, I saw him live in NYC, Irving Plaza, on his comeback tour when he had that album on Interscope with “If You Only Knew”, partly to see if women still threw their panties/knickers at him & the stage…most certainly, and the show was sheer entertainment & fun…saw this box & value and ordered…UK price good but Italy price an utter steal…the full Monty indeed…turning 80, good on him…

  11. Paul Berney says:

Copied this from another site, just for anyone who’s curious what’s on the expanded Hide And Seek album in the set. Delighted to see all the big single-only tracks like What’s New Pussycat?, Thunderball, Till and With These Hands included.

  12. graeme ewan says:

5 euro off 25 euro or more voucher i got and used on amazon.it – REGALO5 – valid til end of today in UK/Europe, time difference etc.

    • KevinK says:

Thanks for that, Graeme. I had put the box in my Amazon.it basket earlier and saw your post when I came back here to re-check the price widget before ordering. Effectively free postage to the UK with the voucher!

    • Kevin from Edinburgh says:

Mmmmm..Tom Jones. Know of him, obviously. Heard him all my life. Never was fussed, to be honest.
      Looked on YouTube.
Footage from 1967, singing ‘I’ll never fall in Love Again’, written by Lonnie Donegan.
      Ordered immediately. Like, seconds later.
Check out the footage on YouTube. You might find it impossible to resist, like I did.

      • Keith Brittain says:

Good move, Kevin. You have lots of treasures awaiting you. I have a super-wide taste of musical genres and artists – but from 1965 to now – Tom. “the voice”, is the top of the top (along with EAP).

  13. Scott S says:

… sprinkled with some of those segments with Big Jim Sullivan.

  14. Keith Brittain says:

This is a must-buy for me – Tom Jones international, baby. I have the excellent box set from 2002 (or so), but I have to have this one. For those of you with just “best of” collections you’ll luxuoriate in hearing (for the first time) classics such as “Puppet Man”, “Resurection Shuffle” and “Running Bear.” I have already ordered.

  15. Paul Berney says:

Pre-ordered it weeks ago from Amazon UK. I’m a huge fan of Tom Jones, but had to make do with a few hits collections and streaming. To have this set with these gorgeous albums and the brilliant digital Hide And Seek album is just a dream. It’s been an awful year, no one will deny it, but music releases have been fantastic. On a separate note and of no consequence to a fan, the price difference with Amazon UK and Italy is baffling, a 3rd less price? Although Italy will have postage charge, where UK offer free post to ROI. Still an unusual price difference from the same company though.

  16. Gary says:

    The Joe Meek recordings ?
Are they available anywhere on official CD release ?

    • Jarmo Keranen says:

In the latest Mojo magazine was a story that 1856 Joe Meek tapes were discovered. They were bought by Cherry Red company. The work to bake and digitally transferring them began in September. The work is expected to take two years. Some early Tom Jones recordings are among them. The tape box labelled them as Tom Jones With Ladyboys!

      • wayne k says:

they really shouldn’t have to bake them unless there was some sort of issue. Most tapes from that time frame don’t require baking(that began later in the 1970’s) and, if you bake them and they don’t need it, it can permanently damage the tapes.

  17. Adey says:

17 Tom Jones albums for less than the price of an empty David Bowie carboard box!
Not my cup of tea but a bargain for TJ fans out there.

  18. Rob says:

Does anyone know if these have been remastered, please, or are they simply reissues of the earlier individual CDs?

  19. bob says:

I’m loving that album cover, very cool…

    • Keith S says:

A definite purchase for me! Had the pleasure of seeing him live in Las Vegas, while working there with the RAF. One of the guys that was in our group came from Treforest, Tom’s hometown, and managed to get a note backstage to Tom. After the show we had an invite to go back to his dressing room for drinks, photos and autographs. An absolute gentleman, brilliant performer, and excellent raconteur. The Green Green Grass of Home album is superb!

  20. Lee says:

Wow! This will make lockdown more bearable! I already have the 60s stuff on CD, but the 70s songs plus bonus tracks msje thus a must buy for me.

  21. Ern says:

I thought Bob Mould’s set was great value and then Tom Jones knocks it out of the park with this release.
I’ve always liked Tom’s music so this is a no brainer purchase to really dive into his early albums, especially at that price.

  22. Gareth Jones says:

I’m hardly a big Tom fan, I just own a “best of” collection and the Reload collaborations album. And I’m sure only owning two Tom releases is not unusual! But my dad had 1970’s ‘Tom’ on vinyl when I was a kid and I remember totally loving his version of ‘Venus’. It’s so groovy! So maybe it’s finally time for me to investigate further. Cheers Paul.

  23. AlanB says:

Good price for this box! “its not unusual” for Tom Jones to offer good value

  24. MARK LEVY says:

    I’m surprised there isn’t a vinyl version

  25. Stefano says:

Anounced a few years ago, now finally realized. Awesome box set for a friendly price. A better treat than the 2017 complete Engelbert Humperdinck Decca studio albums box set, which omitted all the non-album singles and B-sides.

  26. Jarmo Keranen says:

I was thinking to buy John Mayall box. Now i change my mind and buy Tom Jones instead. I own almost every studio recordings from John’s Decca years between 1965-69. From Tom i own only 3 disc collection from the same years. Though it contains big book etc., John’s box is 100£ overpriced when compared to this!

  27. Elmar says:

I Wish they would release the Songs of his TV Show.
    Janis joplin, CSNY… yummie

    • Thomas Casagranda says:

Agreed on the TV Show: that version of Long Time Gone with CSNY is brilliant.

Throw in the Jerry Lee Lewis rock medley, and Janis Joplin’s duet on Raise A Hand and you have pure gold.
