Oleta Adams / Circle of One (2CD)
Oleta Adams‘ 1990 album features the big hit Get Here. Tears For Fears‘ Seeds of Love team were at the helm, so this was produced by Roland Orzabal and Dave Bascombe, with songwriting contributions from Orzabal and Nicky Holland. This is a two-CD set with bonus B-sides and remixes, and I interviewed Oleta, Roland et al, for the sleeve notes. The signed copies available via the SDE shop (now sold out) will follow in a couple of weeks.

Oops! Record Collector mag misses the joke and lists fictitious Macca remix set
The SuperDeluxeEdition April Fool this year was the announcement of a fictitious Paul McCartney remix compilation called Dub Sandwich. It seems that the team at Record Collector magazine in the UK are fans of SDE, since they saw the article and have listed the remix-tastic set as an official forthcoming release in the May issue of the magazine!

Live Devotion: Joan As Police Woman gets intimate at the Royal Festival Hall
Anyone expecting last night’s Joan As Police Woman show at London’s Royal Festival Hall to offer a balance between new material and old favourites would have been disappointed. With Damned Devotion (issued in February) Joan Wasser has probably made the best album of her career to date, and she knows it, because she played the whole thing in its entirety. Yes, there were occasional flashes from the past, but the evening was all about the new record.
